Phew, What a Day!

Pitch or Court Special Guest

Special guest Andrew Wilding wows the crowd with his basketball skills and tricks

What a day! We can give you a sneak peek of Andrew Wilding’s display and also reveal the champions from Sunday’s tournament.

There were several front-runners after the group stages, with last year’s champions Liverpool still in with a chance of taking the trophy again.

But several games later, it was Slough, Newport and Rowan House in the semi’s, with team Jack’s making it through to the final for the third year running.

The netball was equally as exciting, with some great passes and very impressive shooting.

After a long group stage, Worcester‘s Walls of Frost looked set to win but Rowan House‘s Not Ballers came from behind in the qualifying to make it through to a nail-biting final.

And the winners are

WINNERS – Alan Humphrey trophy – Murder on Zidane’s Floor FC (Smiths News Newport) – so we now have three different names on the trophy!

WINNERS – Netball trophy – Not-ballers (Rowan House)

Let’s not forget there was other glory to play for…

  • Runners-up (Football) – Jack’s (Rowan House) – sadly, it wasn’t third time lucky for them
  • Runners-up (Netball) – Walls of Frost (Instore, Worcester)
  • Golden Boot – Jack’s (Rowan House)
  • Golden Ball – Watson’s Smash and Grabbers (Mixed divisions)
  • Best Team Name (Football) – Making Emile of It (Smiths News/Instore, Worcester)
  • Best Team Name (Netball) – All Sorts (Education & Care, Trowbridge)

Well done to all teams that took part this year, and look out for our slide show photo specials next week!
