Newport Glow in the Park

Glow in the Park posterSarah Melchior added to this year’s charity events taking place “abroad” recently by persuading her Newport colleagues to join her in Bath for the Glow in the Park!

Billed as the “ultimate night-time running experience”, Glow in the Park invites participants to don some sparkle then dance, run, jog or walk their way around the 5 kilometre course. Various ‘glow zones‘ along the way, make this a fun event and as you can see, it’s very colourful!

Calling themselves the “Smiths Queens”, Sarah was joined by Lauren Kent, Andrew Herbert and Graham Anthony from Customer Services. They’ve raised around £300 for their chosen charity, All Creatures Great and Small.

As Sarah explains on her Publicity Form, “We thought our animal friends deserved some charity funds as everyone else was raising money for humans.” All Creatures Great and Small is an animal sanctuary local to Newport, based in Cwmbran.

Sarah, this looks like it was great fun and it’s good to have a fresh event to feature here on Community Link-Up! If anyone else likes the look of this, there are further Glow in the Park events lined up for Manchester, London and Ipswich later this year.
