We had such a positive response from everyone last year and were amazed at how many of you got involved – despite not having a fundraising target – we managed to raise over £80,000.
Plans for this year
We’ll be keeping our three key initiatives – Charity Fundraising, Community Volunteering and Colleague Involvement – and each now has its own distinctive logo within the Community Link-Up family. Watch out for them popping up here on the blog and in other announcements from Group Comms. NB the links take you to their dedicated information Pages should you wish to know more.
We have three exciting events lined up for this year. They are:
- Attack the Track on Thursday, March 26th – a Colleague Involvement initiative. NB the closing date for applications is Friday, March 13th
- Trans Pennine Hike in July – our Flagship Fundraiser for 2015
- Pitch or Court? in September – our successful Group Football Tournament, plus a whole new ball game – Netball!
We launched Attack the Track last week and we’ll add the links to the other two events as soon as their details are announced over the next week or so.
Why not set yourself a challenge this year? It could be by taking part in any or all of the above opportunities, or something more personal – from achieving a goal at work to running a marathon. It can be an individual challenge or one you’ve organised with collegues – we’d love to hear about it.
Community Champions and further help
Our Community Champions play an important role in Community Link-Up, and will continue to help co-ordinate events at a local level. They will be your main point of contact for any questions you have about fundraising.
If you’re not sure who your Community Champion is take the link to the Community Champions Page. You’ll also find their names popping up at the bottom of our Community Link-Up posters.
As well as your local Champion, we also have a new Fundraising Pack which has lots of ideas to help you with choosing your charity to support and organising your fundraising activities. Don’t forget that Community Link-Up here is also packed with news of tried and trusted events your colleagues have organised previously.
Keep in Touch
We love hearing your news! Remember that the stories we feature here on Community Link-Up also attract a £20 donation to your nominated good cause. Email Laura Smith with all the details and photos, using the downloadable Publicity Form.
Please Note – the Community Champions, Fundraising Pack and Publicity Form are revised documents and replace any previous copies you have downloaded to use locally.
