Bring on the Dashing Santas!

Prospect Hospice Santa Dash 20141210_093853

Nora Roth won the caption competition with “Hmm! Now where did I park Rudolph?” 😉

Our dashing Santas from the Marketing Services Team at Rowan House raised a fantastic £635 for Prospect Hospice.

And that’s not all! LTN‘s Eugene Howson has news of another Santa run, in Reading this time…

The recent Santa run in Reading

“Ho, Ho, Ho!!! (getting into character)

On Sunday 14th December, for fun and in support of the local charity I took part in the Reading Santa Run (Santa 375). This is the first time the event has been organised (by Reading Rotary Club) and received huge support.

Spectators saw about 500* Santas who left their reindeers at home and ‘dashed’ a 5k route around the Town centre.

The main charities to benefit are Alexander Devine children’s hospice and the Sue Ryder Duchess of Kent Hospice in Reading – two fantastic charities.”

The Rotary Club has set up a generic JustGiving Page for the run.

Judging by the popularity of this inaugural event, it looks like this will become a regular one!

* = according to this report, the estimated number of Santas  was 1,000 and the overall total raised is expected to top £15,000.

What a ho ho ho way to end the year’s running activities. I hope we see more dashing Santas in the future.
