This year’s Christmas Jumper Day is on Friday, 12th December! Now in its third year, this fundraiser aims to raise over £700,000 for Save the Children.
Like many other aid charities, they are currently helping to combat the outbreak of the Ebola virus in Africa*, so this is a very timely fundraiser for them.
We joined in for the first time last year and had a lot of fun in the process. Do check if your location is taking part and if you don’t have any customer-facing meetings planned, we’re asking for a £1 donation for you to wear your jumper.
Stuck for a jumper? Asda is the partner company this year where you can pick up your festive woolly pully from £7.
NB It doesn’t have to be a jumper! All kinds of jumper-themed craft activities are encouraged – from bunting through to gingerbread. You can download a crafting pack with full instructions for making these and more.
Nifty knitters are also catered for with lots of free patterns from Deramores. Slower knitters can get going ready for next year!
So let’s get cracking with those jumpers and photos on the 12th!
* = If you’re in the Norwich area, don’t forget that Yaima Ballester and friends will be raising funds to help combat the ebola virus at the Norwich Global Christmas Market at The Forum on 5th and 6th December. Her colleagues at Bertrams have donated 150 books to go on sale there.
