Charity Focus: Living Paintings

If the embedded video is unavailable, try this link instead. It’s just over a minute long.

Living Paintings isn’t just about paintings, it’s about providing tactile objects (aka “Touch to See” books) accompanied by interpretive audio recordings which enrich blind and partially sighted people’s lives. This could be helping them to enjoy a book, a painting or a visit to a place such as a garden or touring a city.

The above video gives you an idea of some of the range on offer via their nationwide postal library. Resources are available for both children and adults. If you’re looking for inspiration for your next fund-raising activity, Living Paintings is worth your consideration. It’s one of the smaller charities and has a good fit with the heart of what Connect Group is all about.

Living Paintings is based in Newbury, Berkshire, and also has possibilities for you to use your Volunteer Time if you live in this area – have a look at their volunteer page for ideas.
