More Cake for Macmillan

Rowan House macmillan cakes

What a lot of bakers you’ve been! After Borehamwood managed to scoop everyone last week, we have lots more stories about your support of Macmillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning. Our lead picture shows Nic Hewlett and Laura Smith ready to serve at Rowan House.

At least 8 locations joined in, so we will group your pictures into today’s and further posts for this week. Stay tuned for an update on the fantastic overall total raised this year!

“Staff from all departments joined in.  We held 2 raffles from the pack supplied by Macmillan cancer support.  Rebecca Fletcher in customer services won £20 by guessing the correct coffee cup, and Ian Griffin Newport Distribution Manager won £37.00 by guessing the number of 100’s and 1000’s on the cake.  Everyone enjoyed the cakes and we are now organising a slimathon to counteract the overeating !!”

Overall, they raised £139.59.

LTN DMD Macmillan Coffee morning

Our final update is from LTN/DMD, who held their event on the Friday. Eugene Howson (who you may remember was due to run the Bournemouth marathon yesterday in aid of Macmillan) said:

“We raised £84.75, which IS AN EXCELLENT RESULT. It was good to see all staff appreciating and participating during the day.”
