Welcome to Community Link-Up 2014!

It’s nearly spring – despite what the weather might be telling us – so we thought it’s about time to spruce up the blog!

So welcome to a refreshed Community Link-Up, and an introduction to our plans for 2014.

We had such a positive response from everyone last year and were amazed at how many of you got involved – despite not having a fundraising target – we managed to raise over £86,000.

There will be no target this year and an earlier launch means you’ll have even more opportunities to get stuck in!

Plans for this year

We will still keep our three key initiatives – charity fundraising, community volunteering and colleague involvement – so why not really set yourself a challenge this year? It could be anything from achieving a goal at work to running a marathon – we’d love to hear about it.

As well as your own initiatives, we have three key events lined up. The Group Football Tournament returns after its successful debut in 2013, plus we have 2 new Flagship Fundraisers for you to get involved with:

The links take you to the Pages set up for each of these initiatives and we’ll be announcing further details via individual blog posts planned for publication over the next couple of weeks.

Community Champions and further help

Our Community Champions play an important role in Community Link-Up, and will continue to help co-ordinate events at a local level. They will be your main point of contact for any questions you have about fundraising.

There’s a few new faces this year so ‘welcome’ – and thank you for volunteering to be one of our champions!

If you’re not sure who your Community Champion is take the link to the Community Champions Page. You’ll also find their names popping up at the bottom of our Community Link-Up posters.

As well as your local Champion, we also have a new Fundraising Pack which has lots of ideas to help you with choosing your charity to support and organising your fundraising activities. Don’t forget that Community Link-Up here is also packed with news of tried and trusted events your colleagues have organised previously.

Keep in Touch

We love hearing your news! Remember that the stories we feature here on Community Link-Up also attract a £20 donation to your nominated good cause. Email Laura Smith with all the details and photos, using the downloadable Publicity Form.

Please Note – the Community Champions, Fundraising Pack and Publicity Form are revised documents and any previous copies you have downloaded to use locally should be replaced with these shiny new versions.
