March 2014 may seem quite a long way away, but already Sport Relief is gearing itself up for its best event ever!
Many of you supported the Sport Relief Mile in 2012 and also enjoyed reading about the exploits of Andy Cook – our cycling organiser extraordinaire – in his support of John Bishop’s ‘Week of Hell’. How can that be topped?
Well, how about the opportunity to take part in Sport Relief at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park?
March 23rd marks the inaugural Sport Relief Games. Not one, but three sporting activities are available this time around. There are running, swimming and cycling events, all held in and around the iconic venues we came to know so well last year.
You can choose from the Mile, Swimathon or the Cycle. NB Places are currently on offer at half price!
As well as the mile, there are 3 and 6 mile running options. Swimmers can opt for 1.5, 2.5 or 5 kilometre distances (individual or team swims); and cyclists can choose from a 3 mile family cycle, or 25 and 50 mile distances for the over 16s.
Can’t make it to London? There are cycling events in Manchester and Glasgow, plus hundreds of venues available for swimming or running. A postcode search will find the one closest to you. These events are available over the weekend of 21st to 23rd March.
It might be just the thing to keep your sporting activities going over the next few months?
Update: The Aquatics Centre is currently sold out, but the organisers are looking to obtain more places. We’ll keep you posted!
