Are you keen to raise funds to help keep the Wiltshire Air Ambulance flying? Do you like walking? Then the White Horse Challenge could be the fundraising idea for you!
On July 7th and 8th walkers will take to the Wiltshire countryside on a 55 mile route linking together 7 of the county’s iconic White Horses. The route starts and finishes in Devizes, where the air ambulance is based and on the first day passes through Alton Barnes, Pewsey, then up to Marlborough. On the second day the route passes through Hackpen, Broad Town, Cherhill and finishes in Devizes.
As well as the full walk, there are options to complete half the distance on either day, or for a team relay. For the latter option teams can go for the full or half route and its up to team members to decide how much of the route each person completes. There is no limit on team size. A 7 mile family walk also takes place on the Sunday starting at 10.30 am and could be the ideal option for a team stroll in aid of a good cause.
Entry fees are £35 per person for the full or team relay challenge; £25 per person for the day challenge and £50 per group for the family walk. There is no minimum sponsorship required in addition to the registration fees, but of course additional sponsorship is welcome. All fees payable and sponsorship go to fund the air ambulance.
Over £700,000 per year is needed to keep the air ambulance flying and the White Horse Challenge is a major fundraiser for the cause.
